Filmmaker
Writer, director and animator Adam Elliot was raised on a prawn farm in outback South Australia. After moving to Melbour…ne, Adam enrolled in a post graduate diploma in film and television at VCA in 1996. His graduating film UNCLE won numerous local and international awards, including the AFI Award for Best Short Animation, and is still doing the festival circuit today. Adam has completed a further three short films and one feature, MARY AND MAX. He uses traditional ‘in-camera’ animation techniques, with every prop set and character created as a ‘real’ miniature handcrafted object, with no digital additions or computer generated imagery. His characters are based on people he’s known and have been voiced by some of the world’s finest actors including Geoffrey Rush, Eric Bana, Barry Humphries, Toni Collette and Philip Seymour Hoffman. Elliot’s films have been presented at over 800 film festivals worldwide, receiving over 100 awards, including five AACTAs and an Oscar for HARVIE KRUMPET.
